The problem

Most association communities are a forum nobody visits or a group chat that went quiet. Members join to meet each other. If they only ever hear from you, they leave.

When to run it

When engagement is dropping, or at least 30 days before you launch a new online space.

The steps

  1. Find the conversations already happening

Ask ten active members where they talk shop with peers now. A group chat, a hallway at the conference, a standing lunch. Those conversations are your starting point. Do not compete with them. Build on them.
