The problem

Volunteers say yes, then disappear. Not because they do not care, but because the ask was vague and the deadline was never real.

When to run it

Every time you hand a task to a volunteer.

The steps

  1. Make the ask small and specific

Name the task, the time it takes, and what done looks like. Try: "Can you make five welcome calls to new members by the 15th? It is about an hour." A small, clear yes beats a big, vague one.
