The problem

Boards say yes to every good idea, then cannot finish any of them. Saying no feels rude, so nobody does, and the plan collapses under its own weight.

When to run it

When a new project, event, or expense comes up that is not in the plan.

The steps

  1. Check it against this year's priorities

Pull up the plan or the goals the board set this year. Ask one question: does this move one of them forward? If not, it is a nice idea, not a priority.
